Advocacy

NAIFA-PA is a leader in protecting its members' interests and preserving their business environment.

NAIFA-PA advocates statewide for positive and progressive legislative and regulatory action on behalf of the financial services industry and profession while promoting the best interests of the general public. NAIFA-PA regularly forms working alliances with other industry and business organizations to accomplish these objectives. NAIFA-PA supports the complementary actions of NAIFA in advocating its members' interests at the federal level.

Through its 20 local associations' political involvement committees, NAIFA-PA has developed a strong grass-roots network of legislative contacts. IFAPAC-PA, the organization's political action committee, provides a method for members of the association to give financial support to candidates for the state House and Senate. Members are encouraged to become active in local political campaigns and to become involved in the association's legislative activities.

On the local level, NAIFA-PA's local associations sponsor Legislative Days and other events that provide a forum for member interaction with lawmakers. On the state level, NAIFA-PA invites its members to travel to Harrisburg each fall for a Day on the Hill. NAIFA-PA also provides opportunities for members to ask questions of and get the latest information from PA Insurance Department officials on the regulatory issues that affect their business.
