September Is Life Insurance Awareness Month!

Life Insurance Awareness Month is just around the corner! The LIFE Foundation will repeat its 2009 theme, "Wonders of Life." Life Insurance Awareness Month is the time when the industry educates the American public on the importance of preserving their families' quality of life through proper life insurance planning. This year's celebrity spokesperson for Life Insurance Awareness Month is actress Leslie Bibb, who had a role in the movie, "Iron Man 2." Learn more by clicking here.

The LILI Experience - Coming to NAIFA-PA in January!

The 2011 Leadership in Life Institute (LILI) will begin in January and run for six months. Classes will be held at the NAIFA-PA office in Harrisburg. LILI offers you:

Congratulations to NAIFA-PA Local Association Achievement Award Winners!

The following NAIFA-PA local associations were honored with the 2008-2009 Association Achievement Awards for their outstanding efforts in the areas of membership, advocacy, member benefits, governance and professional development. They are: Altoona Area, Laurel Highlands, Greater Harrisburg, Lehigh Valley and Tri-County.

LUTCF/FSS Scholarship Funds Available

In 2010, NAIFA-PA will award four scholarships to be put toward an FA course offered through The American College. Each scholarship will be for $210 (half the cost of a full course).  To be eligible:  

- You must be under 40 years of age or in the business less than five years

- You must attest in writing that you do not receive educational reimbursement expenses from a carrier company

- You must apply the scholarship to an FA course.

The Insurance and Financial Advisors Political Action Committee (IFAPAC) is a term used to describe collectively the PAC sponsored by NAIFA at the federal level and the PACs sponsored by each state association. In the last election cycle, the national IFAPAC and the 50 state IFAPACs contributed approximately $2.5 million to federal and state candidates and committees. NAIFA-PA Health Insurance Program Is Expanding

The plan will now be offered through Highmark. This will enable us to offer health insurance coverage to members in the 29 counties of Western Pennsylvania in addition to those in a 21-county area of Central Pennsylvania and the Lehigh Valley. As you may or may not know, participation in the Agents Health Plan by members helps reduce the dues we need to charge because of the revenue generated from this valuable member benefit program. NAIFA-PA members, their families and their employees are eligible to participate in this plan. For more information, click here.
